Joaquin A Perfect Storm - Ship Missing in Bahamas. Carolinas Get Evil Rain.

That's a real WOW picture there.
Why bother writing at all?
Let's just loop the loop and stare in wonder together . . .

Imagine upwelling is the only thing holding it back from being stronger.

Nice new loop on SpaghettiModels.com

Mike is so good, really.
Great job covering this from all angles.
He is a true weather angel!

Cone shows him going out to sea... we pray.
We have enough from the interaction of the trough with the storm.
The turn to the North seems to be starting..
I'm showing what I call the color cone ..
As it shows more information.
Shows the NHC feels it will stay offshore

Ironic the storm stays off shore and we still get weather.

Water Vapor Loop tells the story in motion...

The Governor of NC is currently talking doing an update. It's a big story, TWC went live for it. French Broad River and other rivers are a concern in North Carolina for flooding. Landslides are a danger after 5 inches of rain so it's very iffy if this will be a problem on that level. There is concern for the fall crops that have not yet been harvested (think sweet potatoes) and beach erosion along the coast. The set up in NC currently is somewhat better than South Carolina. Note because its been so wet they have not been able to harvest the crops and now they are out there... getting flooded. Tobacco, Cotton, Soy... a good 25% of the tobacco is still out there being possibly destroyed. Just saying if you still smoke... you might want to suggest quitting. Peanuts are in danger too....

To go short on the SC concerns.
Cantore showed up there. Nuff said...
What more can I say?
Cantore is there....

Note the rain in Charleston will move up towards Charlotte, NC.
And, up everywhere but there are many towns in it's path.

Rain can be a blessing or a curse.
Usually we want rain...
But some are calling this rain an Evil Rain.
Mother Nature is on the rampage.

That is the projected path of the "evil rain" ...
That is why Cantore is in Charleston, SC.
That rain will spread up into NC.
Remember what the Gov said about French Broad River..

Between terrain and so much rain already it's a big concern.
When you move that evil rain up it comes close to that area.

Type in the name of the river and you get this..

Good old Google posts the warning before the results.

NWS

Ground is saturated. High terrain.
Trees down = power out.
Danger to property and loss of life.

Leaving the Carolinas and going back to the Bahamas...
Breaking News is a missing container ship.

Doesn't this make you remember the Perfect Storm?
Truth is Mother Nature makes perfect storms often..

When they say this weather is not associated with Joaquin...
..it's a lie.

Honestly a lie.
The weather is not directly from Joaquin.
But if it wasn't there it would be a mild October Cold Front...
...slipping away.

The reason the pines are swaying in SC is because of  this set up.

A pressure gradient means it takes two to tango.
Without the hurricane we would not have this much rain.

So... no it is NOT a Cane making your butterfly bushes fall over..
..your pines fall down and kill people driving by on a highway.

It's a dangerous set up.. what we call a Perfect Storm.

http://www.fayobserver.com

It's a tragic mess and tragedy could occur anywhere so stay alert.

Doesn't take much for a river to flood when it's already full.
Don't rule out a twister that spins up fast somewhere.
Rivers can only take so much.
Like people who lose it when they have had enough..
Rivers over flow their banks rather than crying or screaming.
Roads flood, river beds remind people ....
....they are called river beds for a reason..

Praying we all get lucky and the projected rain totals are on the high side.

Note the state of South Carolina is outlined perfectly.
And that is why Cantore is there not here in NC or VA.
The rains will spread up into the high country.
Appalachian Trail...
Piedmont.
Dangers everywhere.

And, when I say everywhere...
I mean here, there and everywhere.
All the way from the Bahamas to the Mid-Atlantic.

While waiting for Joaquin to make that turn and retrace his steps.
We pray for those dealing with him in the Bahamas.
We pray for the lost ship that is missing ...
....the people on board.

And, we wonder on the magic of nature...
...and how nature always finds a way.

Despite endless discussion on it being a "slow season"
And endless discussions on El Nino...
And an endless parade of Cape Verde Storms ....
....that could not get the job done.

Category 4 Joaquin is moving energy around the planet.
And, that... is the purpose of hurricanes.
They have a purpose.
Joaquin is the great equalizer.

October often drives home that point.
And, remember without Grace...
...there would be no Perfect Storm

Let's hope they find that missing ship...
And it doesn't go down like the Bounty...

Weather.. always the most amazing story on Planet Earth.
