Words For The Warrior... and blessings for a New Month

Today is a New Month. Nissan. Passover ... a time when we are reminded of how we went out of Egypt and into Freedom. Of course we had to wander around a few years before we got to where we were going but we were free.

Mitzrayim is translated...the word commonly known as Egypt as not just a country but a place where we are tied down... check out some site like or Aish to get exact translation. They have people paid to do this and I have to go to work soon and do what I am paid to do... and have to time for translations today.

But.........know that when one chapter ends... it is only a short break for you to turn the page and move on to the next page.

Life happens in cycles. If you don't believe me... ask Farrah Fawcett on the cover of AOL or Jimmy Buffett who has had more comebacks than anyone... each time he gets to be himself though.. always Jimmy.

People like us are in touch with who we are... our purpose and we want to do things, faster, better, quicker or as they say down south "More Better"

Purpose driven people are not easily assuaged by trivial pursuits. And, in order to do anything in life and get anywhere you have to jump out ahead of the bunch, take chances, make mistakes, make more, keep going, jump into the water and keep moving foward towards a goal, some goal... sometimes the goal morphs and becomes a goal we didn't even know we had when we started to play the game.

Such is the game of life.

Let's talk about advertising and the power of marketing.

Yesterday I got some paper advertising rag that I flipped through fast and noticed an ice cream store opened up near by called Dots. I had some when I was in Orlando last and remembered it. Little round balls of ice cream. Good and not good but fun. Needed to talk to my brother Ronnie last night about something and instead of going to Starbucks or out for drinks. We both remembered the brochure and went over. 1/2 a cup = 190 calories. I have some chocolate fantasy with mint chocolate chip. My brother reminded me that the Oklahoma Bomber had Mint Chocolate Chip for his last meal. I didn't need to be reminded of Oklahoma.

But the point is... money spent advertising is never really money wasted if it is for a good cause (like Ice Cream) and so............ in the end I did do something outrageous yesterday. I went out late at nights for Ice Cream.. something I rarely ever do.

Wish I could solve the world's problems with a half a cup of dots but would gladly go right now with another friend if it would make him smile and am sure he and a lot of others could use smiles today.

Today starts a new month... a time... a new page in the book.

Hope that book has an exciting, upbeat ending ... reminds me of two good songs by Matisyahu.

Chop Em Down ...a song about going out of Exile and jumping into the Red Sea... long story
"Heavy hitter stepping solid never quitter jump into the ocean before it split got a jump into it"

and the other one it reminds me of is Warrior.

So to you the Warrior... I ask you please...
"Re-united, re-united return the princess to the king"
Have a happy day.. do something special for the Holiday of the New Moon and do something outrageous.

Bobbi... lyrics are not always what they seem...

Purple Brick Road - Links to My World

I woke up this morning, groggy, sleepy, unable to wake up and not very motivated.

A bit down.

I wrote a nonsensical poem just to prove to myself that I am still capable of doing so and sent it off to one of my writin' buds. Okay, it wasn't that bad.. maybe I'll share it here:

Staring at an empty page
I can't even stand the way the font looks
plain and gray
and way too small to see
boring and simple
and wishy-washy
so I click on a link
on the invisible web
that takes me away
to anonymity
Dealt with some bitchy, annoying but well meaning lady at my son's school who informed me that the sweet sixteen year old has surpassed his allotted absence days and so I informed her that "fine, now he will miss tomorrow too as I will have to send him down to Miami Beach to his doctor to get a doctor's note." She signed him out. So, now he is home playing Mario and making shnuffing sounds as he plays.

Got a phone call from an old bill collector from a bill that has been paid and told her that "No, I would not go get all the information and fax it to her" because I don't know where it is and I don't have a fax machine and I have no time in my life to deal with this... and gave her the number of my attorney who got paid well to do that if she doesn't take my word.

So... as of tomorrow.. there will be a doctors note and a laywers note I guess.

Everyone needs a note from some important person with a title and my title is "Mommy" which it seems is not enough.

I started out the day on astrodienst finding out I have a restless spirit today. Wow.. who knew?

I had already checked Hayomyom on my phone but the font was too small so I checked it here on and found out whats going on in the hood... my hood but not where I am. Where I would like to be. Bagel Shop on Kingston Avenue watching the world go by and watching all the strange wierd types who look like they should be in the library killing time. The busy ebb and flow of life on Kingston Avenue.. everyone is in a rush except when they stop to talk.. the coffee isn't that great but the vegetable cream cheese rocks big time.

Next... I read about the eclipse tomorrow... goes right over the Holy Land, Africa and parts of Lower Europe. Hey.. I made a new term "lower europe" I like that. Check it out on You wondered what we do during the Off Hurricane Season...?? Now you know...

I wrote Shayna my daughter and she should be calling me any minute on the cell.

Now days when a truck sounds outside we don't think it's FPL we assume it's part of ongoing building of the mini-mansion across the street. Trucks rumble rumble rumble. No commas.

I could go to and stare at the coffee and pretend mine is Sedona but it's not. My coffee grinder broke. Everything in this world has an inner essence, an inner soul... well seems my coffee grinder bit the dust. Shame... cause I don't do well with stale coffee from Maxwell or Chase and Sandbox coffee.. I found an old small, one time serving of the only small, one time serving coffee I have left that has been hermetically sealed and still air-tight so........ I am currently sipping Jack Daniels Flavored Coffee.. Yaakov Doniel? lol Not that great but better than instant. Starbucks makes good music.. love breathing coffee fumes and staring at their CDs. Maybe I should go there and try to write today... Shame cause my ex-boyfriend I broke up with last year has 3.. count em THREE coffee grinders sitting on his kitchen window sill and sure he would love to come over and drop off one of them to talk but I am not going there... nope. Shame. I should have taken the green one when he offered it...

Anyway, walking down the purple brick road of Bobbi's life....

Signed up here and gave them my input.. give them yours.. give it a try..

Lord Raise Me Up from the Ground... I said Lord Raise Me Up from the Ground.. I've been here tooo long... (favorite song off of Stubb's CD I think... well that and the one where he sings Bim Haye Rah B.. well you listen...

got to give yourself up to become whole..
great song... these two back to back I could sit groovin all day listenin

I sing to my God songs of Love and Healing and I want Moshiach now so it's time to start revealin'

So.. I wonder how some blogger actually started a blog trying to figure out if Matis was a Moshiachist lol........... would have helped if all those people had like actually listened to Live At Stubbs lol. Giggling..

Oh I'm feeling better now.. got tears in my eyes.

Oh, and Shuky checked in from Eretz Yisroel. I have to remember to ask my older son the music producer lol to send the little yeshiva boy a copy of Youth cause he doesn't make a lot of money in the kitchen and this is what I found out yesterday after work talking to my son in Eretz Israel.

1) He feels VERY safe at Ohr Sameayah cause there are soooo many police on their street every day. Why? Cause its on the border between the Jewish part of Jerusalem and the Arab City so they have a lot of police protection so he feels much safer. He can see the Arab part of the city from his bedroom window. Nice.. don't I feel better.

2) He sat up on the wall somewhere (where you are allowed... he says) looking down on the Old City and watching the sunset yesterday while some friends from America were getting a tour around.

3) He may stay through May until after the Yom Tovim.. High Holidays and then see..

4) He spent Simchas Torah last year with Matisyahu and friends downing a bottle of Vodka and then they helped lift eachother up to kiss the Sefer Torah and he's a cool dude.. living there, in Crown Heights where I could be getting bagel with cream cheese and drinking coffee writing on a big pad not my computer but I am digressing. Actually, Matis is on tour which means somewhere he is probably also wishing he was on Kingston Avenue watching the world go by...

where was I?

5) He is going to spend Pesach somewhere down in the South and he doesn't mean Savannah. Shayna knows where.. imagine it is as safe as anywhere... Shayna knows EVERYTHING.. she is better than for the Meyer family :)

So................where else do we go down the Purple Brick Road of Bobbi's life this morning...

My ex-husband wants to know if could come up with a name for his Improv group. I wanted to ask him if I could be in it. I'm very good at improv but he would have to move me to NY. Okay, small sneaky idea there......

Okay.. I'm feeling better.

See.. it is better to give than receive.

Random Thoughts From a Reference Desk

Was a good day all in all.

Read a lot. Got a lot done. Helped a lot of people.

Stared at and flirted with a very cute guy. Handsome. Maybe gorgeous.

Best part was ... he flirted back.

Not really flirted as much as talked and smiled and hung around to smile some more.

The weather part was a bit fishy... I mean he knew the proper way of saying late night and early morning low clouds and fog.. and knew Dr George but well.. point is.. point was.. it made me smile.

As for life... the world... weather...

Cool front came through.. maybe one of our lasts.. so we needs to enjoy it fast before the hot, humid summer sets in.

Read the news today.. lots of news.. local, international...

Occurs to me that people love to complain just to get in the news. I suppose feeling any publicity is good publicity.... you have Jennifer Aniston bitching about the failure of her last movie and projecting her own problems onto those around her playing the name game because she has lost her little hunky boyfriend to a woman of talent and substance. Really pathetically sad.. I hope I never sink that low in life.. Maybe Michael Douglas wants to work with her but unless he is doing situational lite comedy .. if I were him and wait to see when Brad Pitt's baby's mother is ready to act again. Anyway........just my little need to vent and comment on people playing the blame game................ Hey it's my blog..

Shabbos Menu
cole slaw
chicken with baby red potatoes and baby carrots
something else.. maybe corn pudding
chocolate cake for dessert..

Cholent with lamb meat and barley and sweet potatoes

Hey.. I'm looking forward to it...

As for the rest of you out there in blog land..

Do Acts of Goodness and Kindness and don't stoop so low as to project your problems on others.

Bobbi :) (was a good day, can you tell???)

Letter to "Moe" aka who knows what his name is..

I wrote a letter to a friend earlier today.. it was good writing and very on the money and am sharing it here on the blog it was good writing, good thinking...and inspired by a good friend whose name will remain... a secret cause I don't talk and tell...

Article about a letter someone sent me regarding the national debt and the problems America faces. If they let I'll post the letter.. later.. Bobbi

Dear Moe, Hi there..

It's a very heavy, very detailed.. very very good article.. in depth analysis of our problems from an economic viewpoint.. global economics and national..

Sort of takes you high.. takes you low.. or rather a wide view as well as a close in view

I wouldn't lie to you. Have to read it again a few times to understand it all. Economics was never my area of expertise as I prefered studying History, International Politics and Geography. There was a time in space when I could have listed you all the Tzars of Russia and tried to list you the various Georges of England and fumbled on the Presidents of the United States. May I add... Condi has that problem too. We both specialized in the same thing.

Trying to maneuver through balance of power in places like the middle east while wondering what would have happened if some Russian Tzar had gone all out and found his way down to the Mediterranean. I mean make fun of the French but Napolean had ambition... he went far, found his waterloo but he went far... The Portuguese went far too.. around the world. The Russian pysche hunkers down through a long winter and they don't go as far..

Okay ... so maybe they played at going to Cuba but you see.. their heart wasn't in it. They just played sort of to piss off America.

Russia is good at word games, Pravda is fun to read.. sort of a cross between the New York Times and the National Enquirer.. Castro and Russia was all about PR... mind games, word games but beyond that... not even a mouse that roared.

Anyway...this is the problem with current and most administrations. They fall in love with Foreign Affairs and totally ignore the home grown brew of a paperback economy.

The man from Spain who comes from the Basque area and stares with dark eyes is more mysterious and interesting than the little Puerto Rican Jose who lives two doors down.

Worrying over how to spell Czar or Tzar is more worrisome than wondering on what will happen if someday we have to explain that our dollar isn't worth the paper it is written on.

But this is America.. land of the free.. and the brave...the clueless and the dumb and dumber isn't it?

Ask someone in America "who backs the US dollar" and they will respond "George Washington"

So.. in a way.. the little man with the big ears from Texas was the most on the money man around in ways... futurist and oddly.. though if you think on it predictably.. the main base he had (at least in Miami) was older people. He had this group down here of people in their early 60s wearing buttons, giving out pamphlets with a few young college students who liked to be contrary and fight the system. The young still knew it had to be fought and the older ones were smart enough with age to realize there was a problem.

The rest of America... was tired of Bush (hard to be romantic about a man who throws up while at fancy dinners in Japan and has to get Martha Washington to give a good press conference so he didn't look bad... I mean at some point did he not think to himself "shit Im gonna barf" and think to excuse himself from the table with a simple.. sorry your honor but I have to go pee (was going to write something else but am holding back lol)

So... between Old George and the man with the Saxophone who had a sexy charm.. they went like all good Americans do.. with sex appeal.

I guess we need a sexy, folksy candidate who knows how to add and do math as well as find good people to watch the balance of power which is currently out of balance and in danger of collapsing.

Someone who won't sleep through outsourced jobs, NAFTA type of agreements and deal with reality.

But Moe... are we ever going to deal with reality or just live in denial and smile?

Have a good shabbos...
making simple and easy chicken... potatoes.. carrots.. salads..
KISS.. Keep It Simple Silly.. learned that from a great native american

Hello From Orlando

The cable channel here in my hotel will rent me porn but doesn't have MTV. It does have The History Channel.

It's nice to know that there are a lot of old people in downtown Orlando jacking off to porn after watching stories about the Napoleanic invasion of Europe... and watching info commercials about how you can buy land really, really cheap in cheap they fly you in... for less money probably then they are spending to rent porn videos.

But, they don't have MTV or even Country Music Videos and I can't watch Matis or Willie or even Jimmy... and the coffee tastes like "essence of coffee" not real coffee.

Need to find a starbucks.

Otherwise..nice room, nice place.. fun to get out of South Florida even for a day or so and nice to be away with my brother by ourselves... nothing like sybling vacations.

Nice road trip...

Not interested in renting porn... wanted to watch some MTV so it was the infomercial vs news... (do I really need to hear about dead chickens and turkeys... have a direct news link to the source with much better updates) vs the History Channel.

So.............. that is definitely one thing I could complain about in the little brochure that asks you to tell me what I think of their nice luxury hotel..

Nice fast access tho and well.......took a hot, hot, steamy bath...

And............ would like to do a road trip in the Azores personally but well...

That's a dream for now :)

Have a great day from Downtown Orlando and... yes I really did write that :)

Cyclone Larry and Something to Think On...

Somehow this goes perfect with all the stories on Cyclone Larry...

Instead of saying where in Austraila it hit... all the headlines look like something out of a trashy newsheet... Austraila HIT by CAT FIVE!

Do people know its not one bit state like Texas? I wonder does anyone in America know anything about Austraila besides to say with a twang "put another shrimp on the barbie" lol..

There's a visual for you ;)

Anyway.... good article on the problem with global econoics below. Sent it to a friend and decided to post it here as well.

Taking a holiday today... hoping to remember what Florida looks like north of the Lake.. You look at a map and figure out what lake..

I like the way it tries to put positive "spin" on all possible scenarios of disaster.

Truth is... the average person can't really comprehend what this article is talking about...

We have become pretty dumb as countries go and lost sight of the basic lesson in global economics... export more than you import.

I was a geography/history nut when I was little.. anything with a map, people dressed in funny clothes and a landscape different from Miami amazed me.. drew me in, sucked me up... took me away.

First basic lesson in the way things are supposed to go... if you are importing more than you are exporting.. someone else is making all the money and you are reliant on someone else for your security. the every day hustle and bustle of life... paying the electric bill, the car payment, house payment, sushi bar bill and cost of no longer drinking water that comes out of their faucet like their ancestors did the Average American is broke... tired and not interested in "politics" and so...they let other people decide everything for them...

People like Cheney ... people who scare them and regale them with stories of foreigners coming to attack America... like Bush...

We have been attacked... indeed... but by economics and not paying attention to the world around us...and not realizing that the foreigners are here. They own our businesses, our ports, our stores... and all those fancy homes that are being built that no one can afford and everyone wonders "who is buying them at those prices?"

Foreigners... who never forgot to study basic things like Geography and History.

Something to Think On... Bobbi

Beautiful Sunday...

So beautiful...

Gray, cool, a bit damp.. breezy... reminds me of when I was living in Southern California in Long Beach.

Just the type of night to take a nice ride over to Ports of Call and wander around buying coffee, eating cotton candy.... watching the sea gulls and feeling the breeze.

Talked to my son in Jerusalem today... was so good to hear his voice. Looked at some pics online and listening to Matisyahu's Youth CD... great CD... especially his song "Jerusalem" which should become a classic in certain crowds... my 11 year old loves it... so do I...

Going to take a small vacation for the next few days... not going too far but going out of town for a day with my brother.. baby brother but well.. these days he thinks he is the big brother.

Tomorrow Spring arrives... bursts in... Happy Spring... whatever spring means to you..

Used to mean Proms to me... used to mean a song from Camelot... used to mean anniversaries... sigh... used to mean... well it still does... May... got to get through March and April first..

Enjoying the beautiful sunday night...

Hope where ever you are and who ever you say you are... you are too...

welcome to the desert of my soul... you can stay if you want...there's room for one more

4Sam... and ANYONE RELATED...

Beautiful song... practically know parts by heart though I am not going walk down that lonely river today...

Had a beautiful day... a beautiful Shabbos.
Sort of started out raunchy last night... lost my temper, too tired to relax
I know very "old school" term but well I am old school... Class of 72.. remember that
Darn.. just typed 71 and had to fix it.. figures I never remember my year...

Either way... was kick ass beautiful.

Temple or as we say "shul" was perfect... lots of singing, very upbeat... in a sort of huddle with a few of my best friends, "feel good" service... place was quiet, almost empty but someone was very into melody today... Nice... sat there with my "knots" and was mellow, was intense, was musically inspired... davened hard though mostly for Yaffah and a woman I know who is ill and in ICU... a lung problem... Chasya bas Chaya Sorah.. anyway... yeah I davened and enjoyed feeling so at home with loved ones.

Walked over to big Young Israel temple.. my mother wasn't there.. she asked me to come and see her. I get a brownie point for trying... don't I? Had chopped liver and pasta with pesto and an orchid in it..some wine

Came home.. relaxed, had cholent in bed and finished the book I was reading ..advance copy of London is the Best City in America... reminded me of a few of my friends ..especially Sharon and well... good book. Made you think... made me think...

Relaxed, rearranged, read and went out to a class with some friends... hung, talked, thought... thought fast... smart friends..

Came home and the 14 year old girl who everyone seems to think is 16 was in the driveway holding court... she and her brother's girlfriend TeePeed his bedroom (only a drop) which he didn't find so amusing... been there, done that... still trying to move on though I wasn't the one doing the teepeeing...

So... was really a good day... a very good day... relaxed, mellow... nice weather... heard from an old friend who I adore and glad to know he's alive... even if someone is very, very sneaky around here...

And..............................this is for Sam... his Daddy and anyone else in the family who it applies to..
Hey its better than Mr. Sandman or Close to You
Now you know why I listen to Country and Hebrew Stuff like Matisyahu
no cookies trails to memories... works for me

Enjoy and stay out of my harbor... Bobbi

Jimmy Buffett & Bobby Holcomb

Nature lives (life to nature)
Have pity for the Earth(Love the Earth)
I know I don't get there often enough
But God knows I surely try
It's a magic kind of medicine
That no doctor could prescribe
I used to rule my world from a pay phone
And ships out on the sea
But now times are rough
And I got too much stuff
Can't explain the likes of me

But there's this one particular harbour
So far but yet so near
Where I see the days as they fade away
And finally disappear
But now I think about the good times
Down in the Caribbean sunshine
In my younger days
I was so bad
Laughin' about all the fun we had
I've seen enough to feel the world spin
Mixin' different oceans meetin' cousins
Listen to the drummers and the night sounds
Listen to the singers make the world go 'round

Lakes below the mountains
Flow into the sea
Like oils applied to canvas
They permeate through me

And there's that one particular harbour
Sheltered from the wind
Where the children play on the shore each day
And all are safe within
Most mysterious calling harbour
So far but yet so near
I can see the day when my hair's full gray
And I finally disappear
Bounty of the land is exhaustedBut there's still abundance on the sea

Why you wanna hurt my heart?
Why you wanna hurt my heart?
When you know that I love you
Everybody else can see just how it ought to be
Everybody but you
Played your little game of deception
Soon there's gonna be a connection
When you're blue
I know it's just a cryin' shame
Nobody left to blame
Nobody but you
If I could turn back, if
I could turn back the hands of time
I'd do you a favor, straighten out confusion in your mind
In your mind
Gonna see the voodoo lady
Before this thing drives me crazy
Learn what to do, do about you
Mix me up one of them potions, forget about my emotion
Forget about you
Why you wanna hurt my heart?
Why you wanna hurt my heart?
When you know that I love you
Everybody 'round us can see just how it outta be, everybody but you
Why you wanna hurt my heart?

4 Drudge

Just for Drudge... that's all... great song, amazing lyrics... Good Shabbos and Happy Trails...

Windmills Of Your Mind

Round, like a circle in a spiral
Like a wheel within a wheel.
Never ending or beginning,
On an ever spinning wheel
Like a snowball down a mountain
Or a carnaval balloon
Like a carousell that's turning
Running rings around the moon
Like a clock whose hands are sweeping
Past the minutes on it's face
And the world is like an apple
Whirling silently in space
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind
Like a tunnel that you follow
To a tunnel of it's own
Down a hollow to a cavern
Where the sun has never shone
Like a door that keeps revolving
In a half forgotten dream
Or the ripples from a pebble
Someone tosses in a stream.
Like a clock whose hands are sweeping
Past the minutes on it's face
And the world is like an apple
Whirling silently in space
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind
Keys that jingle in your pocket
Words that jangle your head
Why did summer go so quickly
Was it something that I said
Lovers walking allong the shore,
Leave their footprints in the sand
Was the sound of distant drumming
Just the fingers of your hand
Pictures hanging in a hallway
And a fragment of this song
Half remembered names and faces
But to whom do they belong
When you knew that it was over
Were you suddenly aware
That the autumn leaves were turning
To the color of her hair
Like a circle in a spiral
Like a wheel within a wheel
Never ending or beginning,
On an ever spinning wheel
As the images unwind
Like the circle that you find
In the windmills of your mind
Pictures hanging in a hallway
And the fragment of this song
Half remembered names and faces
But to whom do they belong
When you knew that it was over
Were you suddenly aware
That the autumn leaves were turning
To the color of her hair
Like a circle in a spiral
Like a wheel within a wheel
Never ending or beginning,
On an ever spinning wheel
As the images unwind
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind

Happy Post Purim

I've eaten enough Hamentaschen to seriously consider the Rice Diet or even the Core program on Weight Watchers.

Purim comes a month before Passover for 2 reasons...

You have one month to diet before Passover and... gives you something to find while cleaning, candy wrappers everywhere ... in every crevice behind every sofa from kids partying.. adults partying... how do they get behind the sofa anyway???

But... know after I eat that turkey hot dog for dinner.. if I get to dinner... I'm going on a diet tomorrow.

Then again... danced to the new Youth CD that my son sent me for Purim for about 20 minutes so that should work off some calories.. No??

Great CD... great.
Great...the sound is so much clearer than any of the previous CDs. As my son said... a professional studio will do that... Great CD... even if you don't like reggae.. sounds like such a mix of so many styles... with passion and depth... and the beat.. he's got the beat.

I know someone who would love this CD if he would give it a chance. He'd sit with those big earphones on his head, close his eyes... and lose himself in it. If I was talking to him... regulary, normally...

Dont need no umbrella when we are walking in the rain...

Reminds me of that Jimmy Buffet CD from the play... has that sound, of the soundtrack he loves so much...

After two crazy days of talking and playing and dancing and swaying and eating and nibbling and drinking... decided to drink a small bottle of champaign someone sent me for shalachmonis after talking with Yaffa and thinking on life... I mean really... why not? Talking like less than 8 ounces here.. don't worry :)

Eclipses... holidays... phone calls... crazy friends... inspired artists and a very inspired muse

i give myself to you from my essence of my being
and i sing to my God songs of love and healing
and i want moshiah now...

if you are drowning and you need a rope.. ask Hashem to help and he'll send you a boat..

many names for one G-d
trotting on, through the facade...

haha... he sings about Essence... someone else I know talks about essence and God all the time... I remember... you think I forget things talked about many summers ago... when i danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?

I had a long talk with Yaffah last night.. my friend, one of the kindest souls I have ever met.

And, it left my mind reeling... filled with so much inspiration that it blows me away.

Some people are pure genious... pure energy... pure inspiration that I feel greedy taking and not giving though they would argue that but well...

We all have jobs to do in this world..
we have goals
we have roles
we have enemies along the way
we have bad days
we have victories
and then...
we need
to go on..

to keep doing... to keep moving.. to keep flowing.. to keep creating

never rest on your laurels, never try to recreate perfection

water that does not flow becomes stagnant

got to live
got to not be afraid
got to take chances
and leave the naysayers and the problems behind in a pile of negativity and absolution

Move forward from the past... from yesterday... from boundaries that are only in our mind

And find out the water in the river only looks deep.... because it is flowing.. but really it is in an illusion that we can all walk across to get to the other side and when we do.. the illusion is gone.

And there is no more fear..

Anyway................. party was nice, all in all... lots of mini parties and music and ....

I looked like Queen Esther with necklace and earrings... shining so bright.

The setting sun hit them and made millions and trillions of little prisms all across the western wall of my dining room.. and I stared like a little girl entranced.

Gold stars for kindred spirits that make each other smile

oh and lastly

I love you Clark.. always
even when you piss me off..

I stole the happy smile pencil to use for suduko which is a stupid game

Something Wonderful About Purim.. nothing like it in the world

Especially when you are in the spirit

Okay.. since I am having technical difficulties here and I keep getting signed off I am going to do this abbreviated way... Hang on... choo choo

Woke up.. old friend who is away at school at UF who used to date one of my sons.. I love her, shes so cute, so smart.... salutatorian from highschool who reminds me of an old best friend I used to have who did that too...

Went to shul.. heard megillah reading, went boooooooooooo boooooooooo booooooooooo at the appropriate time.. for aHaman.. not Harmon or Herman but for HAMAN...bboooooo booooo

Gave out shaalchamonis packages... special ones with honey bzzz bzz and little glittery necklaces so all my close friends could feel like Queen Esther.

Came home... got present from crazy friend... think its from crazy friend.. had his seal on it... one day I'll understand.

Went out to mothers...with brother..went shopping for soda, booze and liquor.. and ice.

Bought strawberries and whipped cream and some berry vodka... its good... its good...
Blasted Matisyahu in the car, in the house... and some other group...

Went to deliver big baskets with best friend Magda who is deliciously one of my best friends in the whole world. So happy, so funny, so nuts always... so so so so so thin and blonde, so so blonde.. except for that time i lent her my black wig for her to borrow well.. anyway.. we wont go there haha. She's so cute.. I love her.. her and Sharon who I have to call..

Avoided possible dead person at temple. I mean if a person is going to die dont you think they should stay dead? Well, at least til the sequel.

Sat in temple thinking of something Mel said to me and thought how sweet... whatever he means but well. ... nice.

Listening to "I will survive" on some remix the kids are listening to...

Nice day... some sadness around the edges... a friend of mine from a long time ago passed away yesterday... an older lady.. but well.. sad. Trying not to be cause its Purim. And, today my daughter's grandmother in law died.. on purim.. sad... will be sad tomorrow. Not allowed today.

And.. having friends come over... so i have to finish the berry cooler and cook

And.... some wierd kid named Kyle showed up at my door said he was from Conneitticut.. not a good start and had to talk.. couldnt take anything.. just had to practice his speech skills. I'm sorry but when someone shows up at my door step from the armpit of New England right next to you know where. I offered him a package.. he said "no" I just had to listen. I said NO .. its my holiday I don't have to listen to crazy people from New England.. and he had to take the package cause it was from like God... a mitzvah.. so while he said no i ... tossed it across the walkway to him.. he grabbed it so it didn't hit the door (what a pass... ) and I smiled and slammed the door.

happy purim...

So I Wonder.. How Can? Someone Smell Like a Bar Mitzvah

Tonight I went to a Bar Mitzvah party at Chabad of Aventura for some friends of mine in NMB. The Shul looks beautiful... haven't been there in a while... a long journey from the trailers parked on the empty lot that didn't even have side walks. Very nice.. very.

Nice people.. nice friends.. great music.. wonderful dancing... happy dancing... the food was good.

No.. I cannot write in full grammatically correct sentences ... this is not a test its my blog. Deal with it.

So... you take a little peppermint shnapps.. a little Godiva Liquor... ice... simcha... music... my friend Malka LK LK haha giggle oh we had fun. We danced and danced and danced and then.. when we got really tired... we danced some more. Big circle.. little circle... just the two of us.. then some more friends.

Nice to see people happy and celebrating.. especially when you have known them a long time.

I can't believe I have to go to work tomorrow.

So... I come home and my daughter Miriam comes out.... announces she is going to her best friend's house to sleep though I think they are up to something bigger... they had big bags packed. She announces I smell like a Bar Mitzvah.

What does a Bar Mitzvah smell like I ask..

She leans over.. sniffs my shoulder and says... "you know Bar Mitzvah smells"

(Mind you I'm thinking she's smelling the shnapps and getting high from it)

So I ask... "like what?"

Thinking that was stupid.. thinking she's going to tell me sweat lol.. talking no better work out in the world than a simcha with good music..

She sniffs again and says, "meat, cake.."

Her friend Michi says "let me smell"

So.. Michi smells my shoulder.. mind you we are not talking clothes.. I'm out of the party clothes and in tank top and pj clothes.. so Michi smells my shoulder and says "Bar Mitzvah"

Rivky, my fourteen year old wakes up.. comes out and says "Whats going on?"

Michi announces "We're smelling your mother.. she smells of Bar Mizvah"

Rivky walks over like this is normal ... sniffs my now very sniffed shoulder and says nodding, "Bar Mitzvah"

Okie Dokie.. it's official.. I smell like Bar Mitzvah!

L'chaim :)

Oh my gosh.. I have to work tomorrow... da da da da da da da da da... dee dee dee dee dee dee dee dee dum... ootzoo eitzah.. lalalala

Mattisyahu Debuts In Time For Purim

If this new CD doesn't lift your spirits and make you want to party for Purim.. nothing will.

Get outside your box.. color outside the lines while living within the parameters of Torah.

Music changes, evolves like the weather always moving... always changing.. air flowing around and around the world in the atmosphere currents. Today's cold front becomes tomorrow's warm front and the air dives down into another system, gets picked up and swept out to sea... where it interacts with a new feature and ...

Music changes everything and to paraphraze an old boyfriend.. makes the sad times better but unlike him.. I'd add that music makes the good times better.

Serve Hashem With Joy... my favorite saying... this CD helps me achieve that goal and raises me up high.

Love the song on the Stubb's CD... Lord Raise Me Up.. hum it all day at the library.
So if you see me slowly moving to an unsung song at the desk you will know what lyrics are racing through my soul..

As great as the Stubbs CD is ... Youth throbs.. like our youth do.. like mine do.. throbs and pulsates with a reggae beat.. and a Jewish Soul... urgency and inspiration..

Unreal... cool beautiful day in Miami.. can't wait til the Youth CD flies south to me :)

Young man the power is in your hands.... you got to make the right moves...

What's this feeling?
My love will rip a hole in the ceiling
Givin' myself to you from the essence of my being
Sing to my G-d all these songs of love and healing
Want Moshiach now so it's time we start revealing

You're all that I have and you're all that I need
Each and every day I pray to get to know you please
I want to be close to you, yes I'm so hungry
You're like water for my soul when it gets thirsty
Without you there's no me
You're the air that I breathe
Sometimes the world is dark and I just can't see
With these, demons surround all around to bring me down to negativity
But I believe, yes I believe, I said I believe

I'll stand on my own two feet
Won't be brought down on one knee
Fight with all of my might and get these demons to flee
Hashem's rays fire blaze burn bright and I believe
Out of darkness comes light, twilight unto the heights
Crown Heights burnin' up all through till midnight
Said, thank you to my G-d, now I finally got it right

And I'll fight with all of my heart, and all a' my soul, and all a' my might
I want Moshiah Now so it's time we start revealin'

Great CD
Buy it
Try it
Get groovin and get lost in it...
and Have a Wonderful Purim...
(nice website here... listen ... enjoy... buy)

and the aka Matthew Miller stuff is silly.. one is a hebrew name... one is english
I'm not Bobbi aka Bracha
I'm both.. one and the same
it's one and the same
both my names
no name games..

you got the freedom to choose.. young man you got the power in your hand.. you better make the right moves................. :)

Reggae Twisting in the Caribbean.. spinning down there to music

Listening to the incredible new tracks on the preview of Mattisyahu's new CD.. pulsing, throbbing... real reggae sound, beautiful lyrics and watching some "system" down in the Caribbean that is spinning oddly the wrong time of the year

Sort of that sort of day... nothing fits but everything is perfect.

Some kids of my friend's got engaged last night in Israel.. hoping to see them next week. Very cute, very nice... happy to see Laz's son getting married to my friends daughter.. listening to my friend Gittel sound so happy made me happy... been a long few years, watching death and life and birth and marriages... life going on but you always remember those gone (Devorah Leah a beautiful soul) and... now we party, she'd be so happy.

Been happy since I heard though imagine my son in Israel knows more and is there with them.

One world.. so small when you are in Lubavitch.. this extended family of friends who watched eachothers kids growing, growing..and yet I remember when Gittel and I were in Minnesotta and met a girl the other day who is daughter of another girl I knew back then who moved here.

And, now the circle grows.. expands.. includes other families into this strange extended family of Malka, Sharon, Gittel, Fruma... Batya, very cool.. very very cool. The ultimate smile.

And.. this song is unreal.. have to go find the lyrics.

And... have to tell my brother who is waiting while I listen to Mattisyahu on my lunch break at the library that "yes virginia there is something spinning down in the caribbean... wrong time of the year but spinning none the less... like Mattisyahu jamming on MTV and like we will spin and spin when we dance at the Chasena whenver that is..

Life in the fast lane.. makes you dizzy, smile..and we might get wet this weekend.

great lyrics.. great rhymes

Chassidic Reggae... go friggin figure :)

Going to go figure what I am going to make when I get home..

Sweet and Soul Meatballs with Yellow Rice and Gefilte Fish log with assorted Israeli salads
1234 cake for dessert...

Sruly eat your heart out :P

love u, Mommy.. I mean Bobbi :)

I want Moshiah Now sung to Reggae.. perfect..

giggling... like out of season tropical spinning

what a funny
